How to Grow From Baby to Adult in FERAL Animal Survival

Last updated:

Your FERAL Animal Survival animal turns adult when its GROWTH meter fills — a teen wolf's goal bar counted up to 67%. Learn how eating, drinking and quests fill the meter, what changes at adulthood, and how death resets your progress.

Quick answer

Your animal becomes an adult in FERAL Animal Survival when its GROWTH meter fills; in the verified wolf run the teen goal bar counted to 67% (thresholds may differ per animal). Fill the meter through normal play by eating prey, drinking water and completing quests, and watch the goal banner — when 'GROW INTO AN ADULT' completes, the game announces that your animal is an adult.

  • Teen comes first — on the wolf, at 34% GROWTH, unlocking your ability (LUNGE).
  • Every meal, every drink and every finished quest nudges the percentage up.
  • Dying and reviving resets GROWTH to 1%, so keep a growing animal out of losing fights.

Growing up in FERAL Animal Survival is a percentage meter on your HUD, called GROWTH, that fills as you survive. The game's own description spells out the loop: "Be born as a tiny wolf or a wobbly deer, find food and water, and grow from baby to adult in the wild." This guide covers how that meter fills, the checkpoints on the way to adult, and how to protect the progress you earn.

What the GROWTH meter tells you

GROWTH is displayed as a percentage, and specific numbers mark your animal's life stages (numbers observed on the wolf; thresholds may differ per animal). A newborn wolf pup starts at around 6% with a short tutorial that teaches biting and eating, and from there two thresholds matter:

StageGROWTHWhat happens
BabyStarts around 6% (new wolf pup)The tutorial walks you through biting and eating; the F ability slot sits locked with a "34% GROWTH" marker on it
Teen34% (observed on the wolf)Your animal grows into a teen and its ability unlocks — the wolf gets LUNGE: "jump at your prey and bite on!"
Adult67% (observed on the wolf)The teen goal banner "GROW INTO AN ADULT" counts up to this number; completing the bar makes your animal an adult

As a teen, the goal banner reads "GROW INTO AN ADULT" and its progress bar counts against the 67% target — one teen wolf was seen mid-grind at 39/67%. If you are ever wondering how far adult is, that banner is the exact answer; no guessing required. How to raise GROWTH in normal play

Three everyday survival activities fill the meter, and they line up with how the game is meant to be played:

  1. Eat prey. Eating raises GROWTH directly. In the new-wolf tutorial, finishing the first mouse lifted the meter from 7% to 12% — a solid chunk from one small meal. The hunting guide and food-finding guide keep the kills coming.
  2. Drink water. "Each drink and do quest to grow," as one player put it while raising both a wolf and an otter — drinking is an explicit part of the growth loop, not just thirst management. The water-finding guide points you to reliable sources.
  3. Complete quests. The QUESTS panel has QUICK and DAILY tabs, and its tasks read like a normal play session: "Drink at Tall Marsh" (+36 Amber), "Drink 20 water" (+18), "Travel 600 m" (+34), "Hunt a deer" (+36), and a "FINISH ALL 3" bonus (+39). A growing teen in one session summed up the offers as "Hunt a deer, rest for 75 seconds, hunt a herbivore." Quests also pay Amber along the way — see how to get Amber.

Notice how much the quest list overlaps with the survival basics: several quests are drinking and hunting tasks, so one trip to a marsh can fill your thirst, your quest bar and your GROWTH meter at the same time.

The moment you become an adult

You will not have to wonder. When the growth bar completes, the game announces adulthood: one player reached it and found their animal at 50 health — "we're a lot stronger than we used to be" — while another session ended with the on-screen notice "Your otter is an adult. Keep going to be an elder." Between the completed banner and that notice, the game makes the moment unmistakable.

Two things are worth knowing about the adult milestone:

  • Adults are stronger. The freshly promoted adult in that session read 50 health and was, in the player's words, a lot stronger than its younger self — the grind converts directly into capability.
  • Adult is not the end. The notice itself points to elder as the next stage, so keep growing past the 67% adult mark seen in the wolf session above. The elder stage guide picks up where this one stops.

Death resets your growth

The biggest setback in the growth loop is dying. After one wolf was killed and revived, its GROWTH was back at 1% and the goal banner had reverted to "GROW INTO A TEEN 1/34%" — with the F ability locked again. The video's analysis of that death screen flagged a free revive and a -40% growth penalty, but the verified frames show the real cost: GROWTH back at 1%. Amber survives the trip (the player's balance carried over), but the growth does not.

Treat every risky fight while growing as a threat to your percentage: break off early rather than gamble. The predator escape guide covers shaking a pursuer, and the baby survival guide covers the fragile early game, where a death costs you the most ground. If a run does go wrong, the revive guide explains starting over.

Optional shortcuts to adult

Normal play is the developer-intended path, but the game does sell speed. Among its Roblox developer products, INSTA-GROW (100%) lists for R$ 39 and INSTA-ELDER (200%) for R$ 99, alongside stage-specific REVIVE products (REVIVE BABY at R$ 9 up through REVIVE ELDER II at R$ 49). There is a freebie too: during one session, a popup advertised a growth boost that makes your animal grow 50% faster. The growth boosts guide collects what is known about speeding up the meter.

Tips

Let quests do double duty

Drink quests such as 'Drink at Tall Marsh' are at once the drinking that grows you, a completed quest and Amber income.

Read the banner, not just the meter

'GROW INTO AN ADULT' with a bar like 39/67% tells you exactly how far the adult threshold is at a glance.

Guard the percentage

A death sends GROWTH back to 1%, so disengage from losing fights early instead of gambling your progress.

Amber outlives a death

Your Amber balance carries over after a revive, so quest income survives even when growth resets.

However you pace it, the road to adult is the loop the game opens with: find food and water, keep GROWTH climbing, and let the goal banner tell you when you have arrived. If you are starting your first animal tonight, the beginner guide covers the first minutes in the den.
